Ignite Presque Isle (Ignite PI) is a community-driven leadership hub dedicated to sparking economic growth and entrepreneurial energy throughout Aroostook County. Based in the heart of downtown Presque Isle, we’re building a vibrant ecosystem where business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders come together to learn, collaborate, and thrive.
Since our founding on June 22, 2021, we’ve been more than just a nonprofit—we’re a catalyst for transformation. We believe that when we invest in people, we invest in the long-term vitality of our entire region.
Through innovative programs, collaborative workspaces, and meaningful partnerships, we’re establishing Presque Isle as the hub of opportunity in northern Maine.

What We Do
Key Programs & Initiatives
Ignite You Leadership Series
A multi-year professional and personal development program designed for emerging leaders, managers, entrepreneurs, and community builders across Aroostook County. Through speaker sessions, workshops, and peer dialogue, Ignite You builds leadership capacity, confidence, and cross-sector connection.
Impact: Since 2024, Ignite You has engaged 150+ professionals representing business, education, healthcare, municipalities and nonprofit sectors.
Innovation Center & Co-Working Space
Located in the heart of downtown Presque Isle, the Innovation Center offers flexible workspace, meeting rooms, and collaborative environments for entrepreneurs, remote workers, and growing organizations. Housed in a revitalized historic space, it serves as a hub for creativity, innovation, and community connection.
Entrepreneurial Support & Business Resources
Ignite provides hands-on support for entrepreneurs and small businesses through referrals, programming, workspace access, and connections to regional and statewide partners such as Maine Technology Institute, Northern Maine Development Commission and New Ventures Maine.
Impact: Helps businesses navigate growth, funding, and operational challenges.
Workforce Development Initiatives
In partnership with employers, educators, and workforce organizations, Ignite delivers training and professional growth opportunities aligned with regional workforce needs. Programs focus on leadership development, retention, and upskilling local talent.
Impact: Workforce grants and employer partnerships support long-term talent retention in Aroostook County.
Community Events & Networking
Ignite convenes events that bring people together across industries and generations — from leadership mixers and speaker series to collaborative planning sessions. These events foster relationships, idea-sharing, and momentum for regional progress.
Impact: Dozens of events hosted annually, strengthening community ties and cross-sector collaboration.
Our Story
2021
Founded June 22, 2021
Ignite Presque Isle was established in response to a growing need for leadership development, entrepreneurship support, and innovation-driven economic growth in Aroostook County. The organization was created to help local people and businesses thrive while honoring the region’s deep roots and traditions. It’s first project was the revitalization of The Northeastland Hotel and the creation of Rodney’s at 436 Main.
2022–2023
Laying the Foundation
Ignite built early partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and regional organizations. Initial programming focused on convening leaders, piloting events, and shaping a long-term vision for innovation, workforce development, and community impact.
2024
A Year of Acceleration
- Secured MERC grant through Maine Technology Institute
- Secured Workforce Development grant
- Launched the Ignite You Leadership Series
- Expanded regional partnerships and programming reach

Ignite Presque Isle serves as a regional hub for leadership, innovation, and collaboration. With a growing network of partners, a dedicated team, and a vibrant Innovation Center, Ignite supports professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizations working to build a resilient and forward-looking Aroostook County.

Delivering fresh produce a mere 48 hours after harvest from local farms, right in the innovation center.
